A strong work ethic and process oriented approach have allowed me to excel in my job as a director in the non-profit sector and and more recently as a business intelligence and data analytics expert where I have a proven track record of innovative ideas and methods to ensure programs and initiatives are successful. My social science background combined with information technology and analytics expertise enable me to develop a very analytic and strategic approach to problem-solving. My goals are to expand my skills in data science, information technology and leadership.
I am responsible for researching program, process, and technological improvements and innovations that will (1) foster improved data quality and reporting; (2) eliminate redundancies; (3) streamline current data collection activities or work processes; and (4) facilitate data driven decision making. I work collaboratively with a strong team of subject matter experts to build data visualizations, interactive web sites, and dashboards necessary for monitoring performance and reporting to leadership and department stake-holders.
My primary responsibilities included maintaining the organization's client database and information technology infrastructure. I worked to develop metrics and supported efforts for effective data collection across a wide variety of programs and initiatives. I was also involved in performing analytical tasks, research and designing visualizations of internal and external data sources to inform performance, strategic planning, and funding accountability. Lastly, as a technical expert I was responsible for the network and information technology administration, web maintenance, and technical training.
Expand and improve existing programs to meet state and federal standards and maintain funding. Develop and maintain a system to track program output and outcome data effectively using logic models, project planning methodologies and program evaluation theories. Report program performance to key stakeholders including governing board, grantors and partners.
Manage client flow and schedule appointments with organizations’ attorneys. Maintain and organize records of all client physical files.
Supervise afternoon and weekend shifts of restaurant, managing a staff of 6 to 8 employees.
Apart from enjoying all things technology and data I am an avid learner and reader. I enjoy conversation with people from diverse experiences, backgrounds and culture. I have an insatiable curiosity for things that I don’t understand or that I may not know about. For example, I found this article about the Kola Superdeep Borehole fascinating. I enjoy working with my hands, building and/or de-constructing things such as putting together a small raspberry pi project, taking apart a computer to add RAM or to swap hard drives, building a tool shed and fixing an old mower.
To counter a sedentary lifestyle I enjoy going on hikes, but most of all, mountain biking. When all these fail you may, but rarely, find me watching a fantasy or sci-fi genre movie. Every now and then strumming the strings of an old guitar.
